I believe that it is possible to grow a rice in my claimed. Best method that I am able to imitate is SRI method of planting.
You can fined more here.

First I tried just 4 seeds in flowerpot, and all of them started fine. So I decided to go little bigger with my experiment. Nearly 1 square meter. That schooled give me close to 1Kg of rice (0,83Kg to be exact).

As it is my firs year and just a testing run. Anything more that those 30 seeds that I planted will be gain. :-)

I will post more pictures as plants will grow.

Here you can see online data from my testing 880Wp solar array and 600W wind turbine. On the final earthship greenhouse are going to be 1320Wp solar array and one 600W wind turbine and some thermocells. Those I still have to build and test.

It can take 10s befour any graph will show up. In case that graph will not show up, please try again in a few minutes.

This is example. Just a picture. If you want to see real online data wait till the frame above will load.

I installed new device for measuring wind speed and wind velocity. This will help me to determine how strong is wind in my area and what kind of wind turbine should I get.

The GIOM 3000 is capable of measuring wind speed, direction, humidity, temperature, pressure.

The only thing I will use is wind speed end direction. That is important for deciding in future where exactly I will place a wind tower and how high will the wind turbine go.

Graff that will show how much potential wind will generate with 600W wind turbine will come soon.

In summer i started testing my Aquaphonics system, that will be installed in greenhouse in future. I got several barrels nearly for free and I maked a siphon system. Than I bouth 12V pumps. Because I expected to have a source of electricity from solar panels.
I did set it up and start circulating water. I purchased 20 fishes and everything looked good.

And than problems started. My pump died. Luckily I had a backup pump installed. So I fishes were secure. I run to get a new pump and installed it. After several days new one died as well. This did repeat several times. After while I decided to go fro 220V pump and my problem disappeared.

In future green house I have to get really proper pups for 24V. My solar system is now 24V, but that is different story. And the pumps have to be really durable and high quality.

And Aquaphonics system has to be so setup, that when pumps stops pumping fishes will not die and flower will by flooded well.

Thanks good I did this experiment. :-)

I have a first version of floor plans of my Greenhouse like Earthship. Architect was more than forthcoming and all my ideas are more or less in.

After Nearly a year of searching I was able to bought a land for my Earthship. It is 2,500 square meters. More than half and is on south hill. There is 7 meters difference on 70 meters length. So it is not that much, but it to do.

Now I have to come out with floor plan and look into building permits. And in the spring 2012 I hope to start digging.

I will build greenhouse  in Earthship like  concept. All the electricity and gas and food schooled be harvested on my land. This project may take several years and I have plenty of time.
